Hi, everyone!! My name is Kaz, and I am a new intern here at EnglishBootcamp. Today I want to talk about my experience at Bootcamp so far and introduce myself.
みなさんこんにちは。僕の名前はカズで、イングリッシュブートキャンプの新しいインターンです。今日はみなさんに私がブートキャンプで経験したことと、少しばかり私自身の話をさせていただきます。
When I first heard about the program, I wasn’t fully convinced that
people could change enough to be able to communicate in English in just two days. As a
native Japanese speaker, and an English learner myself, I know how difficult it
is to break away from being shy and to be confident in speaking in English. However,
on the first day I participated in the bootcamp, I saw a group of
students become increasingly more confident, and speaking english
freely and comfortably with other students and instructors. That was
truly amazing and I was very excited to see people change so drastically
in such a short amount of time. Since then, I have been working as a Japanese
assistant. It’s been such a pleasure to see people gaining confidence
and learning that speaking English without the fear of making mistakes is the most important thing.
初めてこのブートキャンプのプログラムについて聞いた時、本当に２日間の国内留学だけで英語が喋れるようになるのかと半信半疑でした。日本人として、そして英語の学習者として恥ずかしがらずに堂々と英語を喋ることの難しさをわかっているからです。しかし、私が初めてブートキャンプに参加した時に見たものは、生徒の皆さんがどんどんと自信をつけ英語を自由に使い、皆とコミュニーケションをとっている姿でした。それは本当に素晴らしい光景で、私は生徒の皆さんが短期集中でみるみると変わっていく様子にとても興奮しました。それ以来私は日本人アシスタントとして働いています。皆さんが自信をつけ、たとえ小さな間違いをしようと英語を喋ることを恐れなくても良いのだと気づいていく姿を見ることができるのはとても幸せなことです。
To introduce myself: I was born and raised in Japan and for two years, I have
lived in the United States. I am a junior in college at a
state school in New York. I am majoring in Political Science,
studying politics and International Relations. Since I was a
small child, my eyes have always been drawn overseas. I have always
been fascinated by things I had yet experienced, different from what I
saw in my own everyday. My biggest passion has become to gain as much knowledge about
the world as possible through studying, talking with people and
traveling to foreign countries.
私は日本生まれ日本育ちで、2年間アメリカに住んでいました。現在ニューヨーク州立大学の大学3年生で政治科学を選考し、政治、国際関係学を学んでいます。小さな頃から海外にとても興味があり、常に私は自分が知らないものに魅了されてきました。現在の目標は勉強、人々との会話、また海外の国々を訪れることを通して、世界に対する理解をできる限り深めることです。
Being able to speak English and having global communication skills
allows you to interact with people whom you never thought you
would. These skills seem so difficult to obtain, I used to
think this too. However, now I can say with confidence that
anyone can grasp them with a little change of mindset, and English
Bootcamp can help you do that.
英語が喋ることができ、グローバルなコミュニケーションスキルを持つことは、想像もしなかったような人々と接する機会を作ります。一見これらのスキルは得るのがとても難しいように見えますし、私自身もそのように思っていました。しかし、心構えの小さな変化さえあればこれは難しいことではないと今ならばはっきりと言うことができますし、ブートキャンプにくれば私たちはそのお手伝いをすることができます。
