前回に引き続きネイティブ講師のWalkerに効果的な学習法について聞いてみました

今週は簡単で楽しく英語の語彙を増やす勉強法についてお話したいと思います。
私はネイティブスピーカーと話したり日本語の記事を読むとき、日本語を学ぶ人として私の語彙力はまだ十分ではないと頻繁に感じています。だから私はいつも語彙力を改善するための新しい方法を試しています。
膨大な言葉を見つけることができる場所の一つは、インターネットです！
しかし、あなたはこのような広大な場所でどこから見ていけば良いのでしょうか？どうやって適切なサイト見つければ良いでしょうか？
私はウィキペディアをお勧めします！
ご存知かもしれませんが、ウィキペディアはほぼすべての主題に関する多くの記事が掲載されていて、多くの記事は複数の言語で書かれています。まさに語彙の宝の山です！
ウィキペディアの実際の勉強活用法について聞いてみました
私のお薦めは、例えば私の場合は『ボーイング747』についてに興味があるのでそのトピックを英語のウィキペディアで開くとします。そしてまず、トピックについて基本的な理解を得るために、英語でページを読みます。
その後、日本語でページを読むのに挑戦します。日本語版に移動するには、ページの左側にクリックして読み込みます。
読むには辞書を使用する必要がありますので、そこで新しい言葉をたくさん拾えます。トピックは興味を持っていたものですのでとても楽しく読めます！学ぶ言葉を記録した後、数日後、日本語で同じページを再度読んでみてください。その時私は思い出すことができない言葉を復習します。
このように、新しい語彙だけでなく、興味深いページのコンテンツについても同時に学ぶことができます。まさに一石二鳥の学習です！
この学習法はまた、日本語から英語への学習にも応用できると考えています！これは、新しい語彙を学ぶための楽しい方法であると同時に、興味のあるトピックを新たに探索することができます。是非一度この勉強法をお試し下さい！

This week I want to talk about a simple and fun way you can expand your English vocabulary. As a person learning Japanese, I often (very often!) feel like my vocabulary isn’t strong enough when I speak with native speakers or read in Japanese. So I’m always trying new ways to improve my vocabulary.
One place where you can find an almost unlimited supply of words is the internet! But where do you start in such a huge place? How can you find the right site? I recommend Wikipedia! As you may know, Wikipedia has many articles on almost every subject, and a lot of the articles are written in multiple languages. This is a vocabulary gold mine! What I like to do is open a Wikipedia page in English for a topic that I am interested in (for example, one about Boeing 747). Then I read the page in English to get a basic level of understanding for the topic. Afterwards, I click on the left side of the page to go to the Japanese language version of the page, and then I try to read the page in Japanese. As I read, I have to use a dictionary, so I pick up a lot of new words. Since the topic is something I am interested in, it’s a lot of fun! I record the words that I learn, and then days later I try to read the page again in Japanese. And I pay attention to the words I can’t remember. This way, I can learn to remember not only the new vocabulary, but also the content of the interesting page. It’s double learning!
I bet this way of learning vocabulary also works from Japanese to English! It can be a fun way to learn new vocabulary words and also explore topics that interest you, all at the same time. I encourage you to give it a try!
